Gynae Imaging Masterclass & Hands-on Pelvic USG Workshop, Navodaya Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Raichur
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Navodaya Medical College Hospital & Research Centre (NMCHRC), Raichur, successfully organized the “Gynae Imaging Masterclass – From Probe to Precision”, a first-of-its-kind Hands-on Pelvic Ultrasound (USG) Workshop in North Karnataka. The Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme was conducted on 2nd August at Gurumurthy Hall, NMCHRC Building, Raichur, with 2 KMC credit points approved. The event was organized in association with the Medical Education Unit, NMC Raichur, and in collaboration with the Raichur Obstetrics and Gynecological Society (ROGS) and the Imaging Committee of KSOGA.
The programme aimed to enhance the knowledge and practical skills of postgraduate students, faculty members, and practicing gynecologists in the field of gynecological ultrasound imaging. The CME featured expert lectures, live demonstrations, and extensive hands-on training sessions designed to improve diagnostic accuracy and imaging techniques in gynecology.
The academic sessions commenced with a lecture on “Relevance of Ultrasound in Gynecology” delivered by Dr. Harish Babu, Professor, and Dr. Pavan Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Navodaya Medical College Hospital, Raichur. This was followed by an insightful session titled “Know Your Machine: Knobology for Optimal Imaging” by Dr. Aditi V. Jadhao, Consultant Radiologist, NG Imaging and Diagnostic Centre, Bangalore.
Following the inaugural ceremony and tea break, Dr. Raju Giraddi, Chairperson, Imaging Committee (KSOGA) and Consultant Gynecologist, Bettadur Hospital, conducted an in-depth session on “Pelvic Imaging: Foundations of TVS – A Systematic Approach”, covering the fundamentals of transvaginal sonography and structured imaging protocols. Participants also benefited from a live demonstration of gynecological ultrasound, providing practical insights into image acquisition and interpretation.
After the lunch break, the programme continued with a workshop briefing followed by an intensive Hands-on Workshop conducted by Dr. Aditi V. Jadhao, Dr. Raju Giraddi, Dr. Shruthi, Dr. Niveditha, and Dr. Siddiqua. The practical sessions enabled participants to gain firsthand experience in performing pelvic ultrasound examinations under expert guidance.
The workshop concluded with a valedictory function and high tea. The CME programme was highly appreciated by participants for its comprehensive academic content, interactive learning approach, and practical training opportunities. The event marked a significant step toward strengthening ultrasound imaging skills among gynecology professionals and promoting excellence in women’s healthcare services in the region.
