Basic Course in Medical Education (BCME)
Overview
The three-day BCME Workshop was organized at Navodaya Medical College, Raichur, from 15th to 17th September 2025. The course is an NMC-mandated Faculty Development Program to enhance teaching competencies, assessment skills, and curriculum implementation in alignment with CBME (Competency-Based Medical Education) principles. The resource faculty included members of the MEU and experienced teachers from relevant sources.

Participants
The workshop included over 30 faculty members from multiple departments: Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Pediatrics, Medicine, Psychiatry, Dermatology, Surgery, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, and Anesthesiology. All participants are registered with medical councils and have provided necessary qualifications. Outcome and Recommendations
The BCME workshop equipped faculty members with essential skills in CBME curriculum design, assessment blueprinting, and modern teaching-learning strategies. The event fostered interdepartmental collaboration, networking, and laid down a framework for future orientation and mentoring programs.
Post-test assessment and feedback were obtained from all participants to ensure effective learning and program improvement. The presence and observations of Dr. Vinod Prabhusetty provided further alignment with NMC standards and regulatory compliance.
