Book Launch: “Praescrptio Interni – Learning the Art of Prescription Writing”
Book launch ceremony of Prescription Manual for Interns “Praescrptio Interni – Learning the Art of Prescription Writing” was organized by the Department of Pharmacology on 29/11/2025 at Navodaya Medical College Hospital & Research Center.
The Department of Pharmacology organized a book launching event to formally unveil the book titled “Praescrptio Interni – Learning the Art of Prescription Writing”, authored by Dr. Prabhakar Patil and co-authored by Dr. Divyansh Kumar Singh. The program aimed to introduce the book to faculty members, interns, and other stakeholders, and to acknowledge the collective efforts behind its development.
The event commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. Venkatesh M Patil, Chief Editor of the book and Head of the Department of Pharmacology, who highlighted the significance of the book and the efforts behind its creation.
The dignitaries participated in the digital launch of the book by Dr. Amruth Reddy, Director of Operations, Navodaya Education Trust. Dr. Amruth appreciated the practical relevance of the content for students and interns.
Dr. B. Devanand, Dean & Principal, Dr. Arun K N, Medical Superintendent, and Dr. A. S. Anand, Vice Principal, Navodaya Medical College Hospital and Research Center, officially launched the physical copy of the book. Dr. B. Devanand and Dr. A. S. Anand congratulated the Chief Editor, author, and co-author of the book. They emphasized the importance of such academic contributions in training of Medical Interns. Certificates of appreciation were given by the dignitaries to HODs of Clinical Departments to recognize their invaluable contributions for the book.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the author of the book, Dr. Prabhakar Patil, acknowledging the support of the institution and the contributions of everyone involved.
After the official launch of the book, a separate session for the interns of the 2020 batch was conducted by Dr. Prabhakar Patil, author of the book, Dr. Ramesh Babu, Professor, Dept of Anaesthesia and co-author of the book, and Dr. Divyansh Kumar Singh. Dr. Prabhakar Patil explained important aspects of prescription writing. Dr. Ramesh Babu and Dr. Geeta Hasaraddi explained to the interns different dose forms and how to use them in day-to-day practice. Dr. Divyansh Kumar Singh shared his perspectives on how to use this book from an intern’s viewpoint.
The program witnessed active participation from faculty members, interns, and administrative staff. The turnout reflected strong interest in academic resources and student support initiatives. The book launching event was conducted smoothly and achieved its objectives. It marked an important milestone for the Department of Pharmacology and contributed to enhancing the learning resources available for Medical Interns. The department looks forward to continued academic contributions and collaborative efforts in the future.
