CME on knee arthroscopy on 14th march 2026

The Department of Orthopaedics, Navodaya Medical College Hospital & Research Centre (NMCH&RC), Raichur, successfully organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on “knee arthroscopy”. The academic extravaganza brought together leading orthopaedic surgeons, eminent faculty, and enthusiastic postgraduate students for a day filled with knowledge exchange, practical learning, and professional collaboration.
Scientific session
The scientific deliberations began with the introduction of distinguished speakers, led by Dr. Mimansa yadav and Dr. swapnil pathak.
Dr. Anirudh C. K. (Associate Professor, NMCH&RC) delivered the opening lecture on “Anatomy of knee joint ,” sharing both evidence-based updates and clinical pearls from his extensive practice and research experience.
Dr. Suman N.V. (Professor, NMCH&RC) delivered an insightful talk on the topic “clinical and radiological diagnosis of ligament and meniscus injuries of knee” . His presentation was clear, engaging, and highly informative. The session was well-received by the audience and reflected his depth of knowledge and expertise in the subject.
Dr. Naveen Sir (Associate Professor, NMCH&RC) delivered an insightful talk on “diagnostic arthroscopy and the management of meniscal injuries” . He explained the role of arthroscopy in accurate diagnosis and discussed various approaches for effectively managing meniscal injuries. The session was informative, practical, and greatly appreciated by the audience
Inaugural Program
The CME commenced solemnly in SR Hegde Hall with a traditional invocation and lamp-lighting ceremony, drawing inspiration from the universal symbols of knowledge, wisdom, and new beginnings.
The chief guest for the occasion was Sri SR Reddy ,Honourable chairman,Navodaya Education Trust,Raichur.
The inauguration was marked by the ceremonial welcoming of dignitaries onto the dias ,including,

Each dignitary was warmly welcomed and felicitated by the faculty of the Department of Orthopaedics.
The CME then commenced with a traditional invocation and Watering the plant ceremony , drawing inspiration from the universal symbols of knowledge, wisdom, and new beginnings. Dignitaries, faculty, students, and guests from across Karnataka joined the event, reinforcing the commitment to surgical excellence and orthopaedic education.
A soulful rendition of the Karnataka Nada Geethe followed by watering the plant, setting a tone of unity and regional pride
Dr. Bharath Narayansamy .,Professor and Head of the department, Orthopaedics, extended a heartfelt welcome and highlighted the importance of the CME theme, laying the groundwork for the dignitaries’ inspirational addresses. Their presence and words of encouragement set an uplifting tone for the academic sessions ahead.
The event included warm felicitations for each guest lecturer and dignitary, acknowledging their contributions to orthopaedic science, education, and service. The presence of department heads, institutional leaders, and distinguished faculty further motivated the young postgraduates
Uplifting Conclusions:
The session culminated in a vote of thanks by Dr.Sagar G assistant professor department of orthopaedics.The Chairman S.R Reddy , officiating Principal, Dr.Anand; Registrar Dr. T. Srinivas; and the Organising chairman Dr.Bharath naryansamy ,were applauded for their support and leadership in fostering an environment of excellence which was followed by rendition of National anthem
Academic Session resumed
The academic session burst back to life as the host electrified the audience, proudly showcasing the speakers’ impressive achievements and building excitement for the powerful presentations ahead
Dr. Sridhar Reddy V. (Professor, NMCH&RC and Consultant at Balanku Hospital) focused on “ACL reconsruction” where he explained the subject in a clear and engaging manner. His presentation provided valuable insights and enhanced the audience’s understanding of the topic. The session was informative and well appreciated by everyone present
Dr. Prashanth Sir ( consultant at sparsh Hospital, Bengaluru and Apollo spectra Hospital Bangalore) delivered an informative talk on “chondral injuries and their management” . The session highlighted the mechanisms, diagnosis, and various treatment options for chondral injuries, providing valuable clinical insights. His presentation was clear, precise, and greatly appreciated by the audience for its practical relevance.
Dr. Hari Krishna Mata ( robotic joint replacement surgeon and arthroscopy (FIAA, BOM)) delivered an excellent talk on “ recent advances in knee arthroscopy and the management of multiligamentous injuries” . He elaborated on the latest developments and evolving techniques in arthroscopic procedures, along with effective approaches to handle complex ligament injuries of the knee. The session was highly informative and well appreciated by the audience
The lectures were followed by dynamic Q&A sessions, encouraging active discussion and sharing of experiences among attendees.
Conclusion
This CME represented a meaningful step forward in the ongoing mission of Navodaya Medical College to foster continuous learning and innovation in orthopaedic trauma care. Participants departed enriched with new insights, best-practice updates, and strengthened academic ties, all while upholding the college’s tradition of excellence in patient care and clinical training.
