Guest Lecture on ‘Human Microbiome in Health and Disease” on 25th October 2025
The Department of Microbiology in collaboration with the Medical Education Unit had organized a Guest Lecture on ‘Human Microbiome in Health and Disease” on 25th October 2025 at AV Hall, Ground floor, NET’s Central Library building. The resource person Dr. Anand B. Janagond, Professor, Dept of Microbiology, SNMC Bagalkote delivered a talk on Human microbiota. He explained how these microbes play a crucial role in maintaining health and influencing disease processes. He also spoke about how understanding the human microbiome is critical for developing targeted therapies, including probiotics, prebiotics, microbiota transplantation, and personalized medicine approaches aimed at restoring or maintaining microbial balance for optimal health.
