CME and Workshop on “Bridging the Gap from Awareness to Action: Strengthening AMS Capacity in Healthcare” on 14th November 2025
The Department of Microbiology had organised a CME and Workshop on “Bridging the Gap from Awareness to Action: Strengthening AMS Capacity in Healthcare” on 14th November 2025 at Dr. S.R. Hegde Silver Jubilee Auditorium. This CME and Workshop was awarded KMC 2 Credit Points.
The CME began with a welcome note delivered by Organising Chairman, Dr. Rajeshwari R. Surpur wherein Dr. Rajeshwari welcomed all the Dignitaries and delegates and stressed upon antimicrobial resistance posing a significant threat to public health worldwide. She asked the delegates to participate in interactive sessions, delve into recent evidence-based guidelines, and exchange valuable insights with fellow professionals committed to stewardship.
The first session began with the resource person Dr. Sneha K. Chunchanur, Asst Professor & Infection Control Officer, Victoria Hospital, BMCRI delivering a lecture on “Role of Clinical Microbiologist in Antimicrobial Stewardship: From Bug to Drug”. Dr. Shwetha J.V., Asst Profesor & Infection Control Officer, Victoria Hospital, BMCRI talked about ‘Antimicrobial Stewardship in Healthcare: Gains & Gaps” in the second session of CME. The third session included a virtual talk on “Integrated Stewardship- A Step Ahead” by Dr. Sarita Mohapatra, Professor Bcteriology & HIC, AIIMS, New Delhi. The 4th session saw Dr. Archana S., Asst Professor, St. John’s Medical College delivering a knowledge filled lecture on Enhancing the Multi disciplinary approach to AMSP using qualitative methods.
The CME was followed by a workshop that included Interactive Case Studies, Role Playing and Group Discussions mocerated by all the Resource Persons. The Workshop ended with Vote of thanks and Valedictory function.
