In observance of World Diabetes Day 2025 on 15th November, a series of health awareness programs were conducted under the guidance of Dr. Boramma G, HOD, Department of Community Medicine, to educate the community on diabetes prevention, early detection, and healthy lifestyle practices.
On 3rd November 2025, a radio talk by Dr. Boramma G and Dr. Pavan K focused on diabetes awareness, emphasizing the role of physical activity and diet in preventing diabetes from an early age.
On 15th November 2025, Dr. Pratibha conducted a health awareness session in coordination with the medical officer, staff nurse, and ASHA workers at the family-adopted village in Sidrampura. Local residents were educated on the importance of diet, myths and misconceptions regarding diabetes, early detection, and timely treatment. A total of 35 people were screened for diabetes during the program.
Additionally, IEC activities were carried out in the field practice areas of Singanodi and Ashapur Road on 11th and 13th November 2025, focusing on the importance of World Diabetes Day, early detection, and organizing screening camps for the local community.
These initiatives successfully raised awareness among the community about diabetes prevention, the significance of early detection, and the adoption of healthy lifestyle practices to combat the disease.
