Guest Lecture on “Mastering Academic Publications: Ethics, Best Practices & Avoiding Rejections”

Department of Community Medicine in collaboration with Medical Education Unit, had organised a guest lecture on “Mastering Academic Publications: Ethics, Best practices & Avoiding Rejections” by Dr. UMESH RAMADURG, Professor, Department of Community Medicine, SNMC, Bagalkote on 17th July 2025. This session was conducted to enhance the understanding of research ethics, effective writing strategies, and the publication process among faculty, researchers, and postgraduate students. As academic research is rapidly evolving, and the ability to publish quality research in reputed journals is vital for academic growth and institutional reputation.

The speaker also addressed common challenges faced by early-career researchers and to strengthen ethical and publication standards. Dr. B. Devanand in his presidential remarks appreciated Dr. UMESH RAMADURG for sparing his valuable time for this guest lecture and for sharing his extensive knowledge in Research Publications which will help faculties for academic growth and motivated faculties for improving quality of research and informed Dept of Community Medicine for conducting more guest lectures on Research Publications.

The session concluded with a detailed and interactive discussion segment, which provided clarity and enriched the faculty’s understanding of the research. The conduction of the guest lecture was highly appreciated by the authorities and deemed to be a resounding success.
