CME AND WORKSHOP ON AUTONOMIC DYSFUNCTION: FROM PHYSIOLOGY TO CLINICAL PRACTICE
The Department of Physiology, Navodaya Medical College, Raichur, organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme and workshop on “Autonomic Dysfunction: From Physiology to Clinical Practice” on Saturday, 31st October 2026, at Dr. S. R. Hegde Silver Jubilee Auditorium.
The programme aimed to enhance knowledge and clinical understanding of the autonomic nervous system, heart rate variability (HRV), cardiac autonomic neuropathy, and autonomic function testing.
The academic session commenced with a lecture on “Autonomic Nervous System – Physiological Balance” by Dr. R. H. Taklikar, Professor and Head, Department of Physiology. This was followed by an expert talk on “HRV as a Prognostic Indicator of Cardiac ANS Function” by Dr. Srinath C. Galag, Assistant Professor, Yadgir Institute of Medical Sciences, Yadgir. Dr. Bharat Vijay Purohit, DM Cardiology, Senior Consultant Interventional Cardiologist and Director of Cathlab, Yashoda Hospital, Hyderabad, delivered a lecture on “Cardiac Autonomic Neuropathy – Clinical Effects and Management.”
The afternoon session featured a hands-on workshop on “Autonomic Function Testing: Assessment and Interpretation of Autonomic Dysfunction”, conducted by the resource persons. The workshop provided participants with practical exposure to autonomic function assessment and interpretation.
The programme was held under the patronage of Sri S. R. Reddy, Hon’ble Chairman, Navodaya Education Trust, Raichur. The dignitaries included Dr. T. Srinivas, Registrar, NET; Dr. Amruth Reddy, Director of Operations, NET; and Dr. Arun K. N., Medical Superintendent, NMCH & RC. The programme was presided over by Dr. Gurudatta S.
