Guest Lecture on Safe Minimally Invasive Inguinal Hernia Surgery
The Department of General Surgery conducted a Guest Lecture on April 24th, 2026, on the topic:
“Ten Commandments for a Safe Minimally Invasive Inguinal Hernia Surgery." As minimally invasive techniques like TAPP and TEP have become central to modern surgical practice, it is vital for future surgeons and medical students to master the standardized protocols that ensure patient safety. The lecture provided a systematic framework for navigating the complex posterior anatomy of the groin, emphasizing the prevention of complications and the achievement of optimal surgical outcomes.
The session successfully enhanced awareness among medical students and residents regarding critical anatomical landmarks, the “zones of danger," and the importance of a disciplined, step-by-step approach to laparoscopic hernia repair.
